"Awarded
the first ever Best Interior award by General Motors at the 2002
SEMA Show. This is in recognition of his high quality and craftmanship.
We are proud to have Howdy as part of our team."
Howdy
got his start working on cars professionally in the mid 1960's.
He
started out building chassis before he moved into paint and body
work (working with folks such as Art Himsl). Then he started upholstering
cars too... and before too long, he was building cars from the
ground up, including the chassis, the body work, the painting,
the interior and the motor work. Howdy is one of only a handful
of guys that can build a complete car. He began concentrating
on painting and interiors and completed a number of cars that
appeared in many of the "beach-party" movies and other films by
Universal City Studios during the '60s.

Eventually
Howdy started specializing in custom interiors and upholstery
after about 15 years of painting and other custom work. Although
he still builds cars from the ground up, creative upholstery is
now his specialty. You may recall that Howdy built a clone of
Ala Kart in just under four months time (painted by Art Himsl).
Howdy is a member of the Hall of Fame of the Oakland National
Roadster Show and was selected as builder of the year in 1992.
